Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Med/Surg Unit at the Lakes Medical Center located in Wyoming, MN.

This role is a 0.6 FTE, 48 hours per pay period, 12 hour night shift, with an every third weekend rotation. About this Unit:

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work on a medical/surgical unit? If so, then our unit might be the right place for you! Our 28 bed unit delivers conscientious, well-rounded care to patients every day, and is also capable of providing telemetry. The patient ratio would be 4 patients per RN on the day and evening shift, and 5-6 on the night shift. Staff also enjoy free on-site parking!

Responsibilities Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

The Med/Surg RN will deliver care to medical surgical adult patients with sophisticated medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions.

The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act:

  • Communicating effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other fields regarding the plan of care.

  • Assessing and documenting learning needs of the patient and family. Developing an individualized education plan for patients and families based on identified needs.

  • Actively participating in crafting and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes.

  • Following regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Maintaining knowledge of, and follows, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Performing other responsibilities as needed/assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing

  • Experience working as an RN

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Acute Care experience

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher (BSN, BAN, or MSN)

  • Charge RN experience

  • Telemetry experience
