Key job responsibilities

As a key part of the camera team, we are looking for a camera systems architect to drive the current and future product architectures that meet our product vision.

The candidate will translate feature requirements and provide an imaging solutions, including understanding of ISP capabilities, power budgets, optical and mechanical designs requirements and cost analysis.

Candidate will be heavily involved in the camera module design activities for manufacturing as well as developing core intellectual properties and implementations in imaging area such as image quality tuning, calibration, improvements on auto-exposure, auto-white balance and auto-focus.

A day in the life

You will be responsible for all imaging aspects of camera modules and collaborate with cross functional team to understand 2D/3D camera system.

You will provide the solution that meet imaging requirements by image simulation and modeling and/or working with prototypes.

You will be responsible to derive architect specifications down to component level such as, sensor, lens, ICR, and ISP. You will help and lead to the development of camera technology roadmaps.

Basic Qualifications

• BS EE or CS, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering or relate experience

• 5 years of work experience with camera system development process.

• Experience with major platform SoCs.

• Experience in imaging optics, including lens design and illumination design.     

• Experience with programming skills including Matlab and C++.

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD, EE or CS, Optics, Physics, Image Science, Electrical Engineering or relate experience

• Experience with other related consumer imaging devices. High definition video experiences. Experiences in webcam, DSC, camera modules, surveillance camera, sport camera, 3D depth sensing technologies.

• Experience and hands-on practice in camera module design and manufacturing

• Experience with multi-camera calibration methodology

• Experience with design and implementation knowledge of FOL processes such as wafercleaning, die attach, housing attach, flip chip, as well as clean room operations

• Experience in design and implementation knowledge of imaging control algorithms suchas AE/AWB/AF/face tracking

• Experience with image pipeline in still and video cameras

• Experience with FW implementation of imaging system/devices

• Experience with various sensor and bus interfaces: MIPI, CCP2, USB, parallel, I2C, SPI.

• Knowledge in both sequential and non-sequential optics design tool ( Zemax, Code V, LightTool, FRED and/or ASAP)

• Good documentation and communication skills. Must be able to produce imaging functional specification and realistic schedule.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
