Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform medium to heavy physical labor. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated. Applicants must also be able to communicate effectively with other staff and with park patrons.

Duties Description Under the supervision of the Park Manager or their designee, the incumbent will perform or assist with routine landscaping and grounds work which includes, but is not limited to:• Mowing, trimming and tree maintenance. • Grooming of cross-country ski trails, plowing, snow and ice removal.• Perform routine maintenance on a variety of mechanical equipment including mowers, tractors, and chainsaws. • Remove trash and other obstructions from buildings and surrounding areas.• Assist in upkeep and maintenance of Refuse and Recycling Center.• Assist with special event setup.• Process and deliver firewood.• Assist with the risk-tree program.• Address complaints or inquiries from park patrons.• May supervise a small crew of seasonal staff. • May be required to assist with cleaning or maintenance staff as needed. OPERATIONAL NEEDS: • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Must successfully complete training courses for operation of assigned departmental equipment including, but not limited to: Chainsaw, wood chipper, wood processor, lawnmower, tractor, UTV/ATV, and snow groomer.• Must have the ability to operate a chainsaw and complete Game of Logging level 1, 2, and 3 or equivalent training within the probationary period and maintain it as a term and condition of employment. This training will be provided by OPRHP. • Must be available to work a variable schedule that may include holidays, evenings, and/or weekends.• Must be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in a team setting.• Must be able to communicate effectively.
