Summary:

Under the supervision of the Emergency Department Director or designee, the Emergency Department Unit Secretary is responsible for performing general receptionist and clerical duties in the Emergency Department. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital/staff information.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

• High School or equivalent required

• Cardiac Dsyrhythmia course must be passed within six (6) months of job offer

• Medical terminology course is desirable

• Basic typing course preferred

EXPERIENCE

• Six (6) months to one (1) year of secretarial, clerical or patient registration and/or business required

• Computer entry experience preferred (introduction computer courses, windows applications) preferred
