Responsibilities

The Supervisor is responsible for assisting in planning, directing and coordinating operational and personnel activities to ensure the provision of quality services to meet the needs of those served by his/her area(s) of responsibility and scope of role. Leadership is provided based on the Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare (MCHS-FH) mission, vision, and values. The role includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making with physicians, associate providers, department staff and multidisciplinary team members. The Supervisor will maintain a professional environment and on-going development of his/herself and staff. The Supervisor applies current leadership and management theories to daily management of team. Assists in the development and implementation of operational plans.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent. Significant specialized training relating to healthcare facility maintenance. A two-year degree or Associates degree from an accredited program focused on the maintenance and operation of building infrastructure systems and equipment or related field . Five years of experience maintaining building infrastructure systems in a commercial facility. Two years supervisory experience, or five years of assistant supervisor experience, or ten years of experience as a lead. The specific experience requirements, code knowledge and licensing preference are dependent upon the assigned responsibilities of the work unit. Additional degrees, certificates, course work and/or experience in relevant fields are desired. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, achieve high employee satisfaction, establish and meet high work unit productivity and customer service goals, and the ability to work collaboratively with other work units is highly desirable. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record in accordance with Mayo Clinic Policy. ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Certification –within 6 months. SMA designation / BOMI - System Maintenance Administrator or equivalent - within 2 years.
