Cook Hospital & Care Center Registered Ultrasound Sonographer in Cook, Minnesota

To accomplish this job, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Prepare patients for procedures, escort patients to dressing and/or exam rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions, assist patients in positioning body parts to be imaged, explain procedures, and observe patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during scan. Operate sonographic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes. Ensure sonographic equipment remains in working order, report equipment malfunctions to department administrator, and maintain adequate radiologic supplies. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures; communicate technical impressions to Radiologists. Perform related duties: including but not limited to scheduling patients, placing orders, archiving in PACS, and completing necessary exam specific forms. Maintain competency in Diagnostic Ultrasound Techniques; able to function well in stressful situations; coordinating out-patient and in-patient exams for efficient completion; working knowledge of preps for exams. Assess orders to the correct needs for Prior Authorization, exam performance, and billing. Troubleshoot issues pertaining to patient accounts, orders, exams, prior imaging, and all other related occurrences. Comply with facility-wide and departmental policies and procedures. Exhibit flexibility in response to changing work situations (schedule changes, leaving early, staying late, or taking late breaks when workload calls for it). Actively participate in the Compliance Program, education/in-services, competencies and demonstrate compliance with required laws and regulations. Maintain current Licensure/Registration/Certification.
